§ 01Context

Why this matters.

airy2All aims to enable profitable and sustainable dairy farming systems in low- and middle-income countries under sub-optimal conditions, while improving access to safe and nutritious dairy products.

Average milk consumption is about 19 kg per capita per year in Ethiopia and 3.3 kg in Liberia, compared with 210 kg recommended by the World Health Organization.

The project links feeding, breeding, management, health, processing, socio-economic analysis, and circularity within one operational framework tested in Ethiopia and Liberia.

§ 02Approach

What we are building.

  1. Pillar 01

    DDSA: data and evidence infrastructure.

The Database for Decision-Support and Analysis (DDSA) harmonises climate, soil, biodiversity, socio-economic, market, and literature data into a structured framework for decision-support and analysis.

  2. Pillar 02

    DPA: context-specific decision support.

The Dairy Platform for Action (DPA) integrates validated knowledge, analytical tools, AI-supported services, and low-bandwidth interfaces to deliver actionable guidance under real-world conditions.

  3. Pillar 03

    DTE and pilot validation.

The Dairy Team of Experts (DTE) validates data sources, protocols, and system outputs, while pilots in Ethiopia and Liberia test usability, feasibility, and impact.

§ 03WP6 · Operational layer

How the DPA operates.

The DPA is the user-facing component of Dairy2All. It integrates DDSA, decision-support tools, expert validation, and pilot feedback to deliver context-specific guidance under low-connectivity conditions.

WP6 scope
  1. Step 1 of 4

    User inputs are collected.

Farm, environmental, and socio-economic inputs enter the platform through interfaces adapted to low-bandwidth conditions and different levels of digital literacy.

  2. Step 2 of 4

DDSA and decision tools are queried.

The system combines curated datasets, scientific literature, expert-validated protocols, and analytical tools within a structured knowledge base.

  3. Step 3 of 4

High-risk outputs are constrained and reviewed.

Rule-based safeguards, expert escalation pathways, and DTE review govern high-risk domains and validate system outputs.

  4. Step 4 of 4

Recommendations and feedback return to the system.

Context-specific recommendations are delivered through the DPA, and pilot feedback is reintegrated to refine datasets, models, and protocols.

The DPA is the operational layer linking DDSA, DTE, AI-supported decision tools, and iterative pilot feedback.

§ 04Consortium
