Privacy

Privacy notice.

This notice explains how the Dairy2All consortium processes personal data submitted through howtodairy.com. The notice is written under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, GDPR) and Horizon Europe data-protection requirements.

Effective 2026-04-18

§ 01

Who is the controller.

The data controller for personal data submitted through this site is the project coordinator, Agricultural Research Organization - Volcani Institute (ARO), Israel.

Contact: Dr. Yehoshav Ben Meir, Project Coordinator — yehoshav@volcani.agri.gov.il.

§ 02

What we collect, and why.

Forms (Contact, Collaboration interest, Receive updates). When you submit one of these forms, we collect the fields you fill in — typically your name, email address, organisation, country, and free-text message. We use this information to respond to your enquiry, evaluate collaboration interest, or add you to a stakeholder updates list. We do not collect special-category data through these forms.

Server logs. The web host (Vercel Inc.) records standard request metadata — IP address, user-agent, timestamp, requested URL — for security, abuse prevention, and operational diagnostics. These logs are retained by the host on its standard schedule and are not used for tracking or profiling.

Privacy-preserving analytics. We use Vercel Analytics, which records aggregate page views and referrers without setting cookies, without storing IP addresses in identifiable form, and without building cross-site profiles. No personal data is collected for analytics purposes.

§ 03

Lawful basis.

Contact and collaboration enquiries: GDPR Article 6(1)(b) — taking steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering a contract or working arrangement, and Article 6(1)(f) — legitimate interests in evaluating partnership requests for a public-interest research project.

Stakeholder updates list: GDPR Article 6(1)(a) — consent, given by submitting the form. Consent can be withdrawn at any time by emailing the coordinator (see below).

Server logs: GDPR Article 6(1)(f) — legitimate interests in operating, securing, and diagnosing the website.

§ 04

Cookies.

This site does not set tracking cookies. The privacy-preserving analytics service we use does not require consent banners under the EU ePrivacy Directive because it does not store or read information on your device.

§ 05

Recipients of your data.

Form submissions are emailed to the coordinator (yehoshav@volcani.agri.gov.il). During the 30-day post-launch warranty period, the project's web developer is copied on submissions to detect delivery problems; this cc is removed at the end of that period.

Outbound email is delivered through Resend, our transactional email provider. Server hosting and analytics are provided by Vercel Inc. Both are GDPR-compliant data processors operating under standard contractual clauses for transfers outside the EEA.

We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

§ 06

Retention.

Form submissions: kept for the duration of the project and for up to two years after project end, in line with Horizon Europe documentation requirements. Submissions that did not lead to a substantive response or working relationship are deleted earlier upon request.

Stakeholder updates list: kept until you ask to be removed, or until the project's dissemination activities end (whichever is earlier).

Server logs: retained by the hosting provider for short operational windows (typically 30 days).

§ 07

Your rights.

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these rights, email the coordinator at the address above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

§ 08

International transfers.

Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA (for example, when our hosting or email providers operate servers outside the EEA), the transfer is protected by the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, supplemented by additional technical and organisational measures where required.

§ 09

Changes to this notice.

We may update this notice if site functionality changes — for example, if a new form is added or a processor is replaced. The effective date at the top of the page reflects the most recent update.
